Labour Update

labour_day

Many will be wondering how Hayley and baby are, considering it is 9 days past the due date! The overall news is wonderful-both mother and baby are fit and well. However that is not to say that the last few days have been without challenges. Hayley went into labour on Monday but it then fizzled out and it has been a stop/start process ever since, spanning days instead of hours. This has involved three hospital visits in as many days and she is understandably feeling exhausted and a little anxious. (As am I!) But, all being well, I will have news of great joy to impart very soon! Please pray for mother and child.

Huge thanks to Father Derek who jumped in at the last minute for the All Souls Mass (when all of this began!) and who is poised to jump in on Sunday as well. Praise also to Michael, our pastoral assistant, for offering holy communion from the reserved sacrament in the absence of low mass during the last couple of days. Please note that there will be no Mass on Saturday of this week (tomorrow).

Over the next couple of weeks I shall be on paternity leave as Hayley will need support. Tuesday and Thursday Mass will be replaced with a service from the reserved sacrament, again looked after by Michael. All other weekday Masses will be cancelled. Thank you for the messages of support and love and for all your prayers. Now back to the hospital with Hayley!

Perhaps the curry and a pint did the trick!! Although I cant speak for the advice of Mr Steele. Best of luck to you and Hayley.

Glad all well. Of course, Irish Proddy girls are made of tough stuff.
